I wrote the lyrics while under the influence of a spiritual "cult leader" in 1999 or thereabouts, who has (ironically) since been exposed as a fraud...

When the way we've been doing things doesn't work, then we should see it as a good thing that they don't! (How would we know otherwise?) Hence "nothing works like this... so wonderfully". The song is about changing these broken ways of doing things in society, by accepting ourselves and listening to and acting on "the truth inside".

The first version of this song was a lot slower - it originally came out in a jam with friends Cerys and Rick. Tony then took my vocal melody and cleverly re-worked a new musical score based on it.
