about

I went to visit Jason, who was living in Oxford at the time (1993). We recorded this in the kitchen, with layers of heavy distortion on the didge and guitars... their thundering vibrated an empty milk-bottle right off the window sill during my vocal take (you can hear it - I kept it in as proof that the power of sound can indeed move inanimate objects!).

lyrics

This close,
So open
I could hear you
Speak not just with your mouth...
Word of thoughts and feelings continue unspoken.

I sometimes wonder
Where it's got me...
It doesn't stop me.
These things still arise through your eyes.

There's a twist in the tale
To this strange story,
Nobody hears
When I'm not thinking...

These patchwork feelings
Sewn together of all memories
Fits together,
Like the puzzle we are.

This close,
So open
I could hear you
Speak not just with your mouth...
Word of thoughts and feelings continue unspoken.
